Obituary of Alicia Aviles

After a courageous battle with cancer, Waukesha resident Alicia Aviles (née Diaz) peacefully passed away at Angels Grace Hospice. Born on June 10, 1944, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Alicia embraced life with grace and resilience. She was united in marriage with her beloved husband for 43 years, although they had been together for 51 years, sharing a bond that stood the test of time and trials. They exchanged vows on December 27, 1980, and their union was a testament to enduring love and commitment.

Alicia dedicated 25 plus years of her life to serving her community through her employment at La Casa de Esperanza and Child & Family Center of Excellence. She was not only a committed professional but also a beautiful soul known for her love of crocheting and her infectious laugh.

Throughout her life's journey, Alicia resided in Waukesha, WI, Chicago, IL, and Trenton, NJ, leaving lasting impressions on those fortunate to know her.

She will be dearly missed by her loving daughter, Beatrice (Juan) Gonzalez, and her cherished grandchildren, DeAnthony Kess and Jalen Kess. Alicia is also survived by her siblings: William (Enilda) Diaz Alvarez, Wilfredo (Joyce) Cuevas, Angelo Cuevas, Roberto (Lucy) Juarbe, and Silva Perez, aunt; Carmen Cordero. Her memory will be carried in the hearts of numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Hector Torres, uncles Juan P Alvarez, Ramon Alvarez, Fernando Alvarez, and aunts Agustina Alvarez, Pedro Alvarez, Julio Alvarez, Julia Alvarez.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until the commencement of services at 7:00 p.m. The services will be held at Cesarz Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188.
